Omiya Ogawa StudioWe went to observe the Ogawa Studio that is the general party goods place that can be said to be the most famous in the world. This time Hara Yagi answered to our interview. And we were also able to observe inside of the factory.
Founded in Meiji 38th year as a rubber factory. At the moment the rubber mask is famous, but balloons are handled the most. They seemed to have their hard times when rubber masks were not popular, but they succeeded in spreading their very own special masks all over the world at once. When they created president Obama’s masks there was much coverage requests from not only Japanese media but also the foreign media.

Omiya Walking GuideToday’s walking guide is in Omiya, Saitama. I walked from Toro station to Omiya station. There are many museums that are loved by core fans in Omiya. Today, I visited one of the museums, Omiya Bonsai Art Museum.
Bonsai, which is a traditional culture and a symbol of Japanese beauty, is one of Saitama’s designated traditional industries. Omiya became the city of Bonsai after the Kanto earthquake in 1923, many Bonsai artists and landscapers moved to Omiya. It is so famous that there is a place named the Bonsaicho.

Sabou IssyoSpeaking of Kanazawa’s tea the boucha is famous. Boucha is a tea that is drank on a daily basis in the housing and work place of Kanazawa. Within the teas the Maruhachi made Kaga-boucha has the most soft scent and is a Kanazawa representative tea brand that is cherished and given to the emperor.
At Sabou Isshou as the Maruhachi antenna shop you can enjoy the Maruhachi made tea within the store. The store is located in the Higashi chayamachi.
