To pray at the Saihouji a reservation needs to be made ahead of time. It takes about a month and one week for the subscription post to make its way to the temple and then back to you. The time that was decided on this day was at 13:00. They are very strict about time, so we made sure to check in by our reserved time.

Before praying at the temple, we practice the Shakyo (prayer). After the shakyo there comes the time to observe the garden. Holding the preaching, the singing of the hannyashinkyo and the shakyo, from having our prayers written on the shakyo, and having them preserved forever in the master hall, it seems to be that the feelings of prayer fees and donations are meaningful.

After completing the shakyo after an hour later, it is fitted into the temple. Afterwards it is time to take a stroll in the temple. The garden, which is around 30,000 square meters, has a beautiful view which can be enjoyed year round.

After Entering the garden, you will be amazed by the view. A moss carpet covers the ground, filling your view with its beauty. It is understandable that this place became a model for other temples in Kyoto.
