The “Murata Mountain Cottage” that is located on the foot of Yufudake, is only accessible from the center of Yufuin by climbing a steep hill.

On our way there was a natural original source of hot springs.

The “Murata Mountain Cottage” stands quietly in the green forest.

The old house that was moved from Nigata is located in the entrance of the main hall. One of the concepts of Murata is the replicas of the old fashioned houses. The old fashion houses as the axis the new and old, the eastern and western aspects were remixed, a completely new shape that only Japanese people in our generation can create was created, and defines the complete style of Murata.

All rooms isolated from each other, there are 12 rooms in this camp, and all rooms have different ideas. In the room we stayed in was called “Sou”.

A maisonette type of room, the 1st floor is a western style living room and Japanese style room, and on the 2nd floor is structured as a bedroom with a indoor bathtub on the 1st floor. Asking the workers at the camp, the crucial pillars inside of the rooms were made then moved from Nigata.

Around the camping areas, restaurants and bars, and art museums are compounded.

This is the chocolate shoe “Theomurata”.
Chocolates and chocolate covered almonds with Japanese tea leaves kneaded in them are lined up.

The “Artegio” that is a facility with a collection of art. Sofas and reading spaces that are surrounded by art work are also available.

Dinner was served in our room.
The dish that was served used ingredients from the land. The composition consisted of the horse mackerel and raw fish from the homeland.

After dinner we spent soe time at Tan’s Bar. Tan’s Bar is an old fashioned house lounge that was moved here in the mid Meiji period. It is possible to drink while listening to solid music with huge speakers.

Here we have the Murata specialty, the Earl grey cheese cake.

Unfortunately the next morning, we wake up to rain.

After taking a morning bath, we made way to the main dining hall, and have breakfast.

Until the 10:30 check out limit we stay at the conversation room having a nice time looking at the trees around us.

In fact the popular roll cake shop B-speak is a sister store of Murata, if we pre order by the day before, they will deliver it to our camp by the next morning, so we bought these as gifts.
