As a place where foreigners who want to meet Japanese or Japanese who wants to learn foreign language can gather, I would like to introduce language café Rabbit Hole, located in Suidobashi, Tokyo.

Rabbit Hole is located within 3 minute walk from JR Suidobashi Station or 8 minute walk from Subway Jinboucho Station. The first floor of the building is an Italian restaurant. Rabbit Hole is on the third floor.

At this café, you do not need a textbook but talk freely. Other than English, French, Korean, and Chinese can be used and for foreigners, of course Japanese is possible too. Basically, you must make reservation with an email.(rh.ecafe@gmail.com)

Rabbit Hole is not an ordinary language café.
They have an event twice a year for the purpose of learning other cultures. For example, there are event experiencing Japanese tea ceremony, or a party where you eat the food of the customers home country.

Also, the owner wants to match up foreigners and Japanese together. Therefore, for example, an one-man gallery for Taiwanese designer are held at the café. Also they invite college students so that they can interact with each other at the café.

This is the works of Taiwanese designer. You can buy the art works.

The origin of the name Rabbit Hole comes from the hole that Alice in Wonderland falls into. Rabbit Hole café is an extraordinary atmosphere just like it is in Alice in Wonderland. The owner wishes the customers to jump into the rabbit hole and find their new self.

I wonder if you jump into the rabbit hole, a new self would reflect on the mirror.

The world of Alice in Wonderland is also reflected on the interior objects in the café. The theme is black forest tea party.

On the wall, there is a black tree made from paper and there are pictures of customers from all over the world stuck onto it. As the tree spread its branch, a circle of people spread at Rabbit Hole. Also, it is a place where you can get information.

Although this café is a place to learn English or Chinese, there are many events to just interact with different culture so if you are interested, I would recommend visiting once.
