『Japan culture festival』 held in Aug 7th, 2010 (sat)

Supported by ‘Shinjuku ward’
Experience Japanese culture: Sado (tea ceremony), Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy) and Oko (Japanese Aroma) all in one workshop event.

Japan Culture Association(WEB: https://culture-japan.net/ CEO: Norihito Ishikawa, Tea Expert: Shuntaro Kondo) will hold a workshop style event which you can experience Japanese culture; i.e. Sado (tea ceremony), Shodo (Japanese Calligraphy), Oko (Japanese Aroma) all in one event.  It will be held in ‘Yotsuya Araki-cho Tachibana-ke (11 Araki-cho, Shinjuku ward, Tokyo).

You can experience ‘Serve your own Japanese tea’ for Sado, ‘Write your own favorite letter’ for Shodo and ‘Make your original Japanese aroma’ for Oko.

In addition, Shinjuku ward had decided to support this event on Jul 27th.  This event will be held as supported event for regional cultural event (for people living in Shinjuku ward have special discount for admission fee)

Members of Japanese Culture Association consists of younger generation, and our mission is to modify the traditional and formal image of it so that it will be easier to get start and learn about the Japanese culture.

5 minutes walk from both of Toei Shinjuku line ‘Akebonobashi Station’ and Tokyo Metro Marunouchi line ‘Yotsuya San(3) Chome Station’
■Admission fee: 4,000 yen (for resident in Shinjuku ward: 3,500 yen)
■Maximum participants:80 people

Program
1. Write your own favorite character for Shodo: Norihito Ishikawa
2. Serve your own Japanese tea for Sado: Shuntaro Kondo
3. Make your own Japanese aroma for Oko.: Keiko Matsushita

Special guest: Rakugo (Japanese traditional comic storytelling): Miyako-Asobi-Tei Konpa”都遊亭今葉”
