Mount Mitake Walking GuideMount Mitake is located near Tokyo, Japan in the Chichibu Tama Kai National Park. Standing at 929 meters high, and is easily accessible from Tokyo via train.
Takimoto station is located at the foot of Mount Mitake, and from this station you can either walk or take a cable car up the mountain to see the Musashi Mitake shrine. Walking takes about one hour, but by walking you can enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and winding roads.
Cable car
From Takimoto station it takes about six minutes by cable car to get to Mitakesan station. You can enjoy the beautiful view, which changes depending on the season, while riding inside the cable car from inside. The cable car goes up quickly to the final stop, Mitakesan station, arriving at an elevation of 831 meters.

Kintai Bridge IwakuniWooden arch bridge
In the prefecture next to Hiroshima, Yamaguchi, you can find a town which is famous for its beautiful wooden arch bridge. This town is called Iwakuni and the bridge is the famous Kintai Bridge.
Iwakuni is easy to get to from Hiroshima city, if you go by train it only takes 45 minutes. After arriving at Iwakuni station it takes 20 minutes, by bus, to get to Kintai Bridge.

Machiya Street is a well known shopping street which is usually filled with tourists. The street is lined with many old, traditional Japanese buildings, which are fun to look at. The buildings have a very retro feeling to them, and the main and side shopping streets and many of the buildings were build in the Edo period architectural forms. It’s a very interesting town, where you can relax and explore the quiet area.
