There are various courses at Takao-san, and if you use the cable car, children and elderly people can easily reach the summit at the top. This time, I will introduce the Kobotoketouge course.

Further in from the summit of Takao-san is called the Oku Takao area and this is a place for people who enjoy mountain walking.
After you go down the stairs from the summit, the crowded atmosphere completely changes to a quiet one.

The Kobotoketouge course is recommended for people who want to go down the mountain easily, prefer walking quietly, or like the deciduous forest.

We decided to go down the mountain after eating a rice ball and nameko soup.

There were many fallen trees like these and it was very thrilling.
Even though these were giant trees, they have fallen over and been pulled up by their roots. This explains the strength of typhoons and the true power of nature.

Around these areas, it is more like walking than mountain climbing.
As you walk along the flat ridgeway, there is Icchoudaira and you can go to Shiroyama.
The view of Mt. Fuji from Shiroyama and the front of Kobotoketouge was great.
Mt. Fuji clearly showed its shape as if it was a prize.
It made me feel like I wanted to stay there as long as possible.

Takao-san was introduced as Michelin three stars along with Mt. Fuji. From children to elderly people, anyone can enjoy the whole day like a hike.
It depends on the course but do not underestimate Takao-san because it is considered to be a walking mountain.
The hiking course was just right for someone like me who lacks daily exercise.
It is easily to access and can get there as soon as you want, so I think I will challenge a different course next time.
There are also cable cars and lifts that help you get close to the summit so you can climb really easily.
Takao-san is full of nature and close to the heart of Tokyo at the same time. It is only 47 minutes from Shinjuku on the Keio line express so you can enjoy it as a day trip. Please try visiting.
