Ça et là
Reading time: About 3 minutes
Ça et làThis time we went to cover Ça et là located 10 minutes from Shibuya station, that sells umbrellas (ever ion vinyl umbrellas) as their mainstream, and designs goods for rainy days.
The atmosphere of the Shibuya store
*Ça et là’s concept
Each year 130 million umbrellas are important to Japan, and within those about 5000 to 6000 are vinyl umbrellas (2005). However vinyl umbrellas are “one time use” mainstream, and most of them cause serious garbage issues. Ça et là as an umbrella maker focuses on solutions for these vinyl umbrella problems, and are thinking of causing a revolution for the environmental issues and customer’s concepts of one time use.
“Ça et là” means “Here and There” in French, named due to the wish to have “Ca et la umbrellas here and there”.
Ça et là’s umbrellas(ever ion vinyl umbrellas)are largely different from those vinyl that have existed until now.
*Does not use metal products.
*Because the umbrella skeleton is made of plastic painted with resin, it is very protective against rust.
*Because it is made of plastic, it is protective against strong winds.
*The handle is unique, and is able to hang anywhere (restaurant tables, clothing, pockets of bags as well).
*The handle is shaped like a lemon therefore is easily held (designed for those with big hands to have an easy grip as well).
*The material can be changed (switchable material sold separately, can be used numerous times depending on your mood and outfit, but also if your material rips and also can be switched easily by yourself).
Also, another unique part is that his umbrella can be taken apart. (Taken apart and built cannot be done on your own). This is due to the future goal of “Easily taking apart and recycling umbrella” when it breaks by being able to take all part apart from each other.

How do I buy one of these in the United States? I had one years ago but accidentally left it in a restaurant, and I’ve never been able to replace it.
