The Snow-White World Sapporo Snow FestivalThe 62nd Sapporo Snow Festival was held in 2011. The event originates to 1950 when the local students created snow statues at Odori Park. This year, there were snow statues of the World Heritage in China “Temple of Heaven” 22m tall and characters from the musical “Lion King.”
The snow statue with height over 20m. The view is astonishing.
At the site, many statues make line.

During the night, they are lit up and show a different appearance than the daytime.
Many anime characters showed up in the snow land.

It snowed hard some time so people were fixing the snow statues.
Even the smoking area is made from ice.
2.41 million people visited this year.
A snowboard take-off ramp was built so you can see the boarders’ and skiers’ amazing air show.
