■What made you Found COODE?
After graduating from university in Japan, I transferred to an American University and met many Asian people there. At that time I thought “Asian people have a low sense of fashion”. It seemed like they thought, “It would be fine if I wear brand name clothes from top to bottom”.

I thought that those people must be rich and very talented. I also thought that they are people who will lead in the world. But then I thought that if they’re not stylish, that young people won’t be able to relate to them or aspire to be like them.

I believe that to be able to work globally, appearance is an important element. And through fashion, people can be more confident. While thinking about that, I realized that generally Japanese people coordinate their clothes better than those from other Asian countries. That’s why I thought that perhaps fashionable people and coordinators could help people all around the world who are having trouble with their fashion.

Today, there are many more fashion choices and styles compared to in the past, and I often feel difficulties regarding fashion myself. I’ve even had times when I ask my friend, who works in the fashion industry, to coordinate my clothes.

And so I made COODE because I felt it would be convenient if stylish people could coordinate my clothes or give me advice online.

■When are you planning to expand outside Japan?
First, I’m planning to expand into Taiwan next year. But people outside Japan view websites through smart phones rather than PC’s so we’re going to expand after we have completely build up a Japanese smart phone application. And from then, I hope we can tie-in with various corporations in many other countries.

■Please give a message to people outside of Japan
I’m sure appearance and fashion is important in many countries. And it becomes even more important when you start working. I believe that COODE will solve various problems and anxiety related to fashion. COODE maybe also be a good chance to discover a new fashion. Please try using COODE.
