Riding on the rickshaw

The view from the rickshaw is completely different from the view you would normally see via car, bus, train or even on foot. With the soothing wind on your face it’s exciting to see Asakusa from up high. The driver explains the history of Asakusa while pulling the customer through the streets, offering a tour that is like no other. Getting down from the rickshaw

Asakusa Jidaiya not only offers rickshaw tours, but other traditional Japanese cultural experiences and entertainment as well. Customers can enjoy experiencing tea ceremony, calligraphy, dressing up in traditional clothing, Taiko drumming, and traditional Japanese art and performances.

The most popular experience seems to be dressing up in traditional clothing. Asakusa Jidaiya has a selection of traditional Japanese clothing for customers to wear. Once dressed, the staff take will take your photo using the inside of the Asakusa Jidaiya store as the studio.
