Kyoto, it is an area where traditional tourist spots such as Ginkaku Temple in Higashiyama, and Kiyomizu Temple and so on all are concentrated. This area is an area that can be called the golden area. This year we will introduce the 2 places the Nanzen Temple and Eikando.

The Nanzen Temple is a humongous temple with a total of 45,000 square meters. First, the 22m height grand temple gate.

In this temple gate you can see the scenery that Ishikawa Goemon saw. At the entrance you pay a worship fee, and after going up the steep stairs, you can see the sightseeing port for the leaves changing colors.

This year it was a rather unfortunate coloring in which the colors were not as vibrant, but you could still enjoy the panorama on a nice day out.

This is the Nanzen Temple’s Suirokaku and the brick made arched bridge. The red leaves changing color in front of the brick bridge that was completed after 100 years of days and months of creation, is a place worth visiting.

Roma’s water bridge was created as a model, and will carry the water from lake Biwa to Kyoto even now.

The Tenjuan is at the east side of Nanzen Temple main hall. It is one of the most beautiful places to gaze at the leaves changing color in Nanzen Temple.

The white sand of the stone pavement and the red colors of the leaves entertain many people.

In the Southern part of Tenjuan in the central part there is a lake, and around it is colorful leaves.

We continued to make way to the Eikando.

The Eikando is a famous place for leaves changing color, even sung in the traditional Kokinwakashu. It has been familiarized by the society since the Heian period, and the burning red colors catches people’s eyes.

The official name of the Eikando is called the Zenrin Temple. It is the temple famous for the Mikaeri (looking back) Amida. The main hall is named exactly of Amida Nyorai, because she is turning her neck to the left side, it is called Mikaeri Amida.

Within the precincts it is said to have 3000 trees planted with leaves changing colors and maple trees.

Especially around the Hojo Lake you can see a view surrounded by a red coloring.

The Eikando and Nanzen Temple are both temples in Higashiyama, in the eastern Kyoto. The people have a fun time looking at the leaves changing colors before entering into the fierce cold season. Of course other than the autumnal seasons, it has its fascinations as a temple, and with the beautiful nature in the background, please enjoy Kyoto.

    The reason is that I´m writting a book (not for publish) mainly with my pictures from Japan.
