Wagashi,Japanese Sweets “Ichigetsu” Part2The Japanese confectionery shop that we introduced before, Ichigetsu has changed their products to fall style. I would like to introduce the new products.
Beans Daifuku
Ichigetsu’s beans daifuku is not the same as regular daifuku. It is too soft that it is difficult to pick it up. The sweet beans inside are good too.
From the left are Sasaguri, Aki no Yamamichi, Yamanami.

You can enjoy this sweet by looking and tasting with the three layers.
Aki no Yamamichi (fall mountain path)
This sweets describes a ground that colored leaves have piled up and a rich harvest season with the beans.
Sasaguri
A sweets with one whole chestnut in it. You will be filled with happiness once you eat the chestnut inside and the ourter dough together.
From the lest is, Yamamiyage, Aki no Ka, Minori, and Kiku no Sono.

As this sweets’ name have a flower’s name in it, it is meant to enjoy its shape. Therefore, I would like you to look at it from not only from the top but from the side as well.
It looks like a garden full of kiku (chrysanthemum) or a single blossom of kiku.
Minori
During fall season, golden heads of rice spreads before you in Japan’s rice fields. You can feel the joy from this one.
Aki no Ka
Chestnut is used. Chestnut is a food that symbolizes fall. The smell of chestnut can be said to be the smell of fall.
Yamamiyage
The anko (sweet red bean paste) and the dough surrounding the chestnut is a gift from the mountain.
The left one is Kikyo. The top one is Teruha, The middle one is Tsuki ni Gan. On the right is Aki no Futatsume. The bottom one is Aki no No.
Kikyo (bell flower)
It is made to look like the kikyo flower died in the fall sunset. The color is in pretty fall color.
Teruha
The leaves do not just change their colors. They shine under the sunshine and the gold foil on the sweets describes that.
Aki no No
Fall is a little sad season without the freshness and powerfulness of spring and summer.
Aki no Ka
Even though there was another product named Aki no Ka, the owner does not seem to care. Both looks like fall so it is fine according to him. This one uses chestnut as well.
Tsuki ni Gan
Two gan (wild geese) flying over the full moon making a shadow. Fall, when the air become clear, you can see the moon beautifully.
The far side is Kisenishiki. In the front is Kinukatsugi.

It looks like a women wearing gorgeous clothing.
Kinukatsugi
Kinukatsugi is a potato that harvest in fall. By the time this potato is on the market, the season is fall.
Ichigetsu
It continues to provide traditional Japanese wagashi ever since it opened over 30 years ago. It would be greatly appreciated if you would enjoy it for your own pleasure rather than for gifts to others.
