2010 Traveling Shikoku the Fourth day, Anan, Tokushima

2010 Traveling Shikoku the Fourth day, Anan, TokushimaThe Fourth day of my stay in Shikoku, I’ve been half way through my trip. I stayed in Anan as the day before. It had been a very hot week since I arrived in Shikoku, so I decided to go swimming.
This is Kitanowaki beach near the Anan station. This place is also famous for sea turtles like the Ohama coast.
Full of family groups because it was a holiday.
Oceanic animals like sea urchins and turtles are everywhere on the rocky shore.
It seemed to start raining, so I headed back to my place to stay. On the way, I came across a ripe rice field.
I decided to do fishing near the inn. The water was so clear that I could actually see fish from the top of the seawall.
I actually got some fish within 30 minutes. Unlike Tokyo, it was full of not people but fish, making this place a treasure box of nature.
A small saurel.
They were both small, so I released them back.
I stayed in this “Tsubaki-so”, a type of accommodation called “minshuku” in Japanese, which is a small Japanese inn run by a family or a small group of people. The price is also reasonable and may not be as comfortable as a hotel, but you can enjoy the local food and hot spring.
Dinner for tonight. A lot of seafood of Tokushima.
Broiled turban shell and grunt sprinkled with salt.
Vinegared octopus
Shrimp sashimi
Boiled sea urchin and catfish.
I had more than enough of this wonderful meal. I will return to Kochi tomorrow.
